Episode 1: Homecoming

The story of Naruto Uzumaki continues in the beginning of Naruto Shippuden as he returns in his village of the Hidden Leaf after travelling for two years while training under a great master – Jiraiya, one of the three Legendary Sannin of Konoha (although Naruto would always prefer calling him Ero-sennin, or perverted sage).

In the Leaf Village, daily routines are done as Konohamaru tries to complete the mission that was given to them by Lady Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage or sometimes called Konoha’s princess mainly due to her bloodline. Sakura was aked to get the report from the main gate and was met by Konohamaru and his friends who then accompanied her. There, they were given an unexpected news that made them run back inside the village.

Meanwhile, as Naruto returns to his village of Konoha, nostalgia overwhelms him as memories rushed back to him, seeing the village has not changed except fot the addition of Tsunade’s face to the mountain where faces of the past Hokage can be seen. Running as quickly as they can, Konohamaru and his friends together with Sakura saw their old friend. Staying true to his character, Naruto continues to say to the wrong things in front of Sakura, who seem to have been training well on Naruto’s absence and was easily able to beat Naruto mercilessly.

As Jiraiya and Naruto reported to Tsunade of their return, the Hokage informed them that she will be testing Naruto’s skills and have appointed a special opponent for Naruto.

As a prologue to this episode, we are shown a short preview on where the story will be. The search for Sasuke continues as Naruto and Sakura, along with a couple of yet-to-be-determined allies, are determined to bring their former team-mate (and brother, as Naruto considers him one) home.
